Our department aims to develop leading-edge materials researchers with strong R&D, leadership and planning skills and abundant creativity. Such people will draw on a tradition predating the establishment of the university and will have wide-ranging specialized learning grounded in leading-edge basic science, which they will use to develop a wide variety of organic materials and contribute to the emergence of a sustainably growing society.
